The first flight with Albania Airlines emblem was 18 years ago. Since that day on, the name of this company has become very familiar for Albanians and foreigners. In 1992, Albanian Airlines started as a joint venture between the State Company Alb-Transport, at that time depending on the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, and a small private Austrian company, Tyrolean Airways. Our company has been well-known for years now as the air force carrying the national Albanian flag. Since August 2009, 93 % of this company’s shares belong to Mr. Ali Evsen. Buying this company is one of the most ambitious projects of Mr. Evsen. His close aim is to empower this company and to spread in more than 20 destinations, from 8 that is so far. The company as well, is certified for the charter flights worldwide. From several years, during summer this company organizes flights in Egypt, Turkey, Dubai, Switzerland and other countries. Its mission is to offer a secure, efficient, qualitative, reliable and punctual air service. In 18 years of its history, this company has had many achievements and experiences. It had its official license of flight (AOC), Nr. 0003, in July 3, 1995, which is renewed every year, as well was authorized from the General Directorate of Civil Aviation to exercise its activity in international commercial air transport, designated to carry the flag of Republic of Albania, according to the Albanian law of civil aviation and the standards and practices recommended from ICAO, appendix 6. The first flight was in board of an Airbus A320/200, hired from Egypt Air. Being a company with scheduled flights, Albanian Airlines had the great advantage to start its flight in Europe by itself, without any real competitor for a period of time. Citizens believe in Albanian Airlines, because it’s a traditional airline company in Albania, that doesn’t abuse with prices. During many years, as well as working for its image step by step, the company built its reputation being always punctual and offering the best services possible for its passengers. Individuals, groups, co-nationals and many foreigners have flown with Albanian Airlines. The highest officials, such as the President of Albania, the Prime Minister and other high officials of state and private companies choose to flight in various destinations with Albanian Airlines. For more than 15 years, Albanian Airlines was the only airline company, in board of which is spoken the native language from the highly trained stewardesses. The pilots are another precious benefit of our company. Every six months they refresh their knowledge in the Flight Academy in Oxford, a training center for clients, in Woodford Manchester of United Kingdom. This is the biggest training center offering tests for technical check-in of the flying means of transportation, as well as for the abilities and skills of equipage. After making available the new electronic ticket service “e-ticketing”, in June 2007, and the electronic direct booking “e-booking”, the company now is going through its highest operational level in business. As far as 2008, with our company have flown over 200 000 passengers per year, also are performed 3 000 yearly scheduled flights. During 2010, the aim of our company’s president is to increase the number of destinations, to improve the quality of services and the number of passengers.
